It's fair to say our furry friends are a hugely important part of the family, so it's only right they feature in the wedding festivities. But before delving into having your pet at your wedding, there are a few things to think about first.

Their Temperament
Is your pet comfortable in large crowds, or do they get anxious? Think about this before including your pet in your wedding day as it could cause them unnecessary stress and overwhelm them.

Who Looks After Them?
The easiest way to solve this is to hire a professional pet chaperone. They can help your pet be included in the wedding photos and other important activities, then take them away from the festivities so they can relax and enjoy a treat.

Venue Rules
Does your venue allow pets? Check their rules before the big day.

Any Dietary Needs
Make sure your pet is fed and watered at the right times on your wedding day. This will help minimise potential disruptions to their routine.

Their Toilet Needs
If you have a pet chaperone or an appointed family member, they can handle this when your pet needs it.

Are They Trained?
Think carefully about how well-trained your pet is. Are they comfortable on the lead and are they crate trained? If your pet can be a bit unpredictable, it may be best to leave them at home.

Give Them Plenty of Exercise
Let your pets get rid of some energy before your ceremony; they're more likely to cooperate if they've already had their exercise.
